Throwback Thursday

Throwback Thursday to one of my favorite community traditions — the annual Stillwater Elementary School talent show!

In 2016, when the show was at risk of being cut, I joined a group of dedicated parents to help keep it going. My oldest was just in 1st grade and already loved performing, so I couldn’t resist jumping in. Over the next seven years, I helped lead everything from auditions and rehearsals to school assemblies and evening performances — even pulling off virtual shows during the pandemic to keep the tradition alive.

The team of co-leads and volunteers changed over time, but I stayed on to make sure the magic continued. Last year, I had the joy of volunteering (not leading!) at the show — my final year as a parent in the school. While bittersweet, I’m so proud to see a fantastic new group stepping up to carry it forward.
