Throwback Thursday

Throwback Thursday to the start of Citizens For Duvall back in 2016 — a grassroots effort born from the belief that an informed, engaged community is a powerful one.

I founded CFD to create space for open dialogue outside of formal council settings—where neighbors could come together, ask questions, and connect directly with City leaders. We hosted forums, invited councilmembers, the mayor, and city staff, and made sure every voice had a place at the table.

For over a year, I personally attended and recorded every City meeting, uploading them to YouTube so anyone in Duvall could stay informed—on their own time.

By 2017, that work inspired me to take the next step and run for City Council—and I was honored to be elected. With that, starting in 2018 Citizens For Duvall was archived, but its mission—to empower residents through transparency and connection—still drives me today.

Here’s to remembering where it started! You can still view all the videos I took: https://www.youtube.com/@citizensforduvall-cfd28 as well as the Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/citizensforduvall
