Throwback Thursday

Throwback Thursday to the start of Citizens For Duvall back in 2016 — a grassroots effort born from the belief that an informed, engaged community is a powerful one.

I founded CFD to create space for open dialogue outside of formal council settings—where neighbors could come together, ask questions, and connect directly with City leaders. We hosted forums, invited councilmembers, the mayor, and city staff, and made sure every voice had a place at the table.

For over a year, I personally attended and recorded every City meeting, uploading them to YouTube so anyone in Duvall could stay informed—on their own time.

By 2017, that work inspired me to take the next step and run for City Council—and I was honored to be elected. With that, starting in 2018 Citizens For Duvall was archived, but its mission—to empower residents through transparency and connection—still drives me today.

Here’s to remembering where it started! You can still view all the videos I took: https://www.youtube.com/@citizensforduvall-cfd28 as well as the Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/citizensforduvall

Capital Projects Part 1

When people ask me what’s on my agenda as the next Mayor, my top priority is clear: finish the big capital projects that matter to our community. One of those is the 3rd Avenue NE Reconstruction Project—a critical step toward a safer, more accessible Duvall.

Identified as the City’s TIP Project R-13, this project will transform 3rd Avenue NE from NE 143rd Pl to Stephens St with:

-Streetscape improvements and roadway widening

-Continuous pedestrian & bike facilities

-Intersection upgrades and traffic calming

-Stormwater system improvements

-New street lighting

One major milestone is already complete: the replacement of the Coe-Clemons Creek culvert, which now improves fish passage and reduces flooding risks.

Here’s where we are now:

– 90% Design Plans completed – February 2025

-100% Design Plans expected – Fall 2025

– Construction Timeline – To Be Determined

As one of the Councilmembers who served on the Public Works Committee, I was proud to participate in the selection of the contractor and help move this important project forward.

This is more than just infrastructure—it’s a long-term investment in our community’s safety, sustainability, and mobility.

Memorial Day

I took this photo at Novelty Hill Cemetery on Memorial Day in 2018. A break in the clouds sent a beam of light across the graves—it was a quiet, striking moment.

Today, we remember those who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is the reason we enjoy the freedoms we have.

As we spend time with family and friends, let’s also take a moment to reflect on what this day represents—and how we can honor that legacy through service, community, and gratitude.

Throwback Thursday

Throwback Thursday to my time serving as the Legislative Chair for Stillwater Elementary PTSA — an experience that deepened my commitment to advocacy for kids, schools, and our community.

Each month, I worked to keep our membership informed on key legislative actions at the regional, state, and national levels. I provided regular updates at board and general meetings, tracked emerging issues, and shared how they could impact our students and families.

From attending Fall Legislative Assembly to Focus Day, I had the privilege of representing our PTSA and ensuring our voices were heard.

It was a role rooted in collaboration and community — and it gave me a front-row seat to how policy shapes opportunity.

I’m grateful for the experience and the dedicated volunteers who worked alongside me to advocate for what matters most: our kids. It was an incredible honor to receive the PTSA Advocacy Award during my time in this role.

Yard Signs!

I’m thrilled to be kicking off my campaign—and I need your help to get things rolling!

One of the first steps? Yard signs! 🪧 Every sign in a yard is a visible vote of confidence, and I want to make sure we order the right number.

If you’d consider placing a sign in your yard (or want to get involved in other ways), please take a moment to fill out this quick form: https://forms.office.com/r/sVxvcg94Ki

Not a yard sign person? No problem! There are plenty of other ways to show your support—just check out the options in the form.

Let’s do this together💛
