Touch-A-Truck Event

My family and I had an amazing time at the Touch-A-Truck event today! It was such a joy to see families and kids light up as they climbed into dump trucks, honked horns, and explored the vehicles that help keep our city running smoothly.

A huge thank you to our incredible Public Works staff—your hard work behind the scenes keeps Duvall safe, clean, and connected every day. From maintaining roads to responding to storms, you’re the backbone of our city.

I am grateful as always to our Police and Fire Departments for showing up with smiles, answering questions, and letting the young ones sit in your vehicles! Your dedication, professionalism, and community spirit make Duvall a safer, stronger place.

Events like this remind me of what makes our town so special—neighbors coming together, learning, and appreciating those who serve. Thank you to everyone who helped make today possible!

Lead with Love Part 2

In the months ahead, I’ll be sharing more about a leadership philosophy that guides me every day. In a world where leadership can often feel cold or combative, I believe there’s a better path—one rooted in love.

Leading with love doesn’t mean avoiding hard decisions—it means making them with heart. It means showing up with empathy, even when opinions differ. It means staying grounded in service, not ego.

In city leadership, love looks like protecting what makes Duvall special while embracing progress with care. It means advocating for families, listening to concerns with respect, and always choosing collaboration over division.

As your next mayor, I believe love is a leadership strength—not a softness, but a commitment to do what’s right, not just what’s easy.

Let’s keep building a Duvall where love leads the way.

Throwback Thursday

Throwback Thursday to one of my favorite community traditions — the annual Stillwater Elementary School talent show!

In 2016, when the show was at risk of being cut, I joined a group of dedicated parents to help keep it going. My oldest was just in 1st grade and already loved performing, so I couldn’t resist jumping in. Over the next seven years, I helped lead everything from auditions and rehearsals to school assemblies and evening performances — even pulling off virtual shows during the pandemic to keep the tradition alive.

The team of co-leads and volunteers changed over time, but I stayed on to make sure the magic continued. Last year, I had the joy of volunteering (not leading!) at the show — my final year as a parent in the school. While bittersweet, I’m so proud to see a fantastic new group stepping up to carry it forward.

Here’s to the next generation of talent — and the community spirit that brings it all together!

Regional Committees

Throughout my time in public service, I’ve been honored to represent our community on key regional committees that shape the future of Duvall and the greater King County area. These roles are opportunities to advocate for our city, protect our environment, and ensure smart, sustainable growth.

Here’s where I’ve proudly served:

✅ SCA King Conservation District Committee (2018–2021)

✅ Joint Recommendations Committee – King County (2020–Present)

✅ SCA Public Issues Committee (2022–2024)

✅ SCA Nominating Committee (2023–Present)

✅ King County Flood Advisory Committee (2024–Present)

✅ SCA Growth Management Planning Council (2025–Present)

✅ PSRC Growth Management Policy Board (2025–Present)

I’m especially thrilled to have finally earned a seat on two growth-related committees in 2025. I know how important the issue of growth is for our residents, and I’m committed to ensuring Duvall’s voice is heard in every conversation that shapes our region’s future.

These positions have given me a seat at the table—and a strong voice—for Duvall in regional decision-making. I’m committed to continuing this work with transparency, collaboration, and a deep dedication to our community’s values.

Happy Mother’s Day!

On Mother’s Day, I’m especially grateful for my greatest blessings—my kids.

They are my heart, my inspiration, and my biggest supporters.

Eight years ago, they were right by my side as I took my first steps into public service. From helping put stakes into my yard signs to knocking on doors with me in the rain, they’ve been part of this journey from the very beginning. Their belief in me has always been one of the greatest driving forces in my life.

Today, we celebrate the incredible women who nurture, lead, and inspire—at home, in our community, and beyond.
